Hyatt House San Jose/Silicon Valley is seeking a dependable and service-focused Housekeeping Houseperson to support the Housekeeping team in maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming hotel environment. This role assists Room Attendants, supports guestroom and public-area cleanliness, stocks supplies, responds to guest requests, and helps ensure the hotel is ready to deliver a comfortable extended-stay experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation of guest corridors, elevators, stairwells, linen closets, service areas, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
- Assist Room Attendants with daily housekeeping needs, including delivery of linens, towels, amenities, and supplies.
- Remove soiled linen, trash, recycling, and other items from guestroom floors and housekeeping areas.
- Stock and organize housekeeping carts, linen closets, supply rooms, and storage areas.
- Deliver guest-requested items such as extra towels, bedding, amenities, cribs, or other supplies as needed.
- Support room turns by helping Room Attendants prepare rooms for cleaning during busy occupancy periods.
- Assist with public-area cleaning, including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and maintaining restrooms or lobby areas as assigned.
- Support laundry or linen handling needs as directed by housekeeping leadership.
- Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, damaged items, or lost-and-found items according to hotel procedures.
- Follow proper chemical handling, cleaning, sanitation, and safety procedures.
- Maintain a professional appearance and provide courteous, helpful service to guests and colleagues.
- Work collaboratively with Housekeeping, Front Office, Engineering, and other departments to support a smooth guest experience.
- Assist with deep cleaning projects and other housekeeping duties as needed.

Qualifications
- A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous housekeeping, hotel, janitorial, laundry, or related experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to complete assigned tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including AM/PM shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and move items up to a moderate weight.
- Prior hotel housekeeping or cleaning experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with housekeeping operations, linen handling, cleaning tools, and safe chemical use.
- Experience supporting Room Attendants in a hotel or extended-stay property.
