We are seeking a proactive and skilled Hotel Maintenance Engineer to ensure the seamless operation and upkeep of our hotel facilities. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of building systems and equipment to provide a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for guests and staff alike. Duties
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC units, building interior elements, and facilities equipment to prevent issues before they arise.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment using schematics, ohmmeters, and electrical work techniques to restore functionality swiftly.
- Conduct HVAC system repairs and maintenance, including troubleshooting thermostats, filters, compressors, and ductwork to ensure optimal climate control.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and carpentry skills to carry out repairs on building interiors, furniture, fixtures, and structural components.
- Maintain plumbing systems through repairs, leak detection, pipe replacement, and system upgrades to ensure water safety and efficiency.
- Supervise maintenance tasks performed by team members or contractors while ensuring safety standards are met; lead small teams during projects when necessary.
- Complete detailed maintenance painting projects and touch-ups to uphold the aesthetic quality of interior spaces.
- Read technical schematics and mechanical drawings to accurately diagnose issues and implement effective solutions in facilities maintenance.
- Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, parts used, and inspections conducted for compliance and operational transparency.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems including HVAC (Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning), plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and general facilities maintenance.
- Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation systems management.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, schematics, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic devices.
- Strong electrical experience with repair of electrical equipment and understanding of electrical codes and safety standards.
- Ability to interpret technical schematics and mechanical drawings accurately for troubleshooting purposes.
- Skilled in plumbing system maintenance including leak detection, pipe repair or replacement.
- Knowledge of residential painting techniques for interior touch-ups or larger projects within the hotel environment.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with supervising experience in a maintenance setting; capable of guiding teams effectively.
- Excellent customer service skills with a proactive approach to guest satisfaction through prompt resolution of maintenance issues.
- Fluency in English for clear communication with team members and vendors; familiarity with other languages is a plus but not required.
