Description: HYW 21st Century Summer Program - Full Day Summer Teachers Assistants Summer 2026
Program Goal: To provide assistance to teachers and community partners with literacy and project-based learning STEM activities for students in Grades K-3 who are attending the 21st CCLC Summer Program.
Job Description: The Full Day Summer Teacher Assistants will:
- Ride the bus morning and/or afternoon to monitor student behaviors
- Assist Teachers with the implementation of Literacy Curriculum & Instruction
- Assist Teachers with monitoring use of online literacy programs
- Assist Teachers with the implementation of PBL Curriculum
- Assist Teachers & Community Partners on enrichment activities
- Assist with Setting Up Classrooms & Learning Spaces
- Assist with Supervising Meals & Recess Time
- Follow Health & Safety Protocols
- Attend all applicable Orientations & Planning Sessions
- Assist Site Coordinator with data collection (SAYO’s) required by DESE
- Assist in other duties as needed
- Ensure Student Confidentiality
Program Duration & Anticipated Schedule
- July 6, 2026 - August 6, 2026 - Mon-Thurs 7:30-2:30 or 8:30 - 3:30 (staggered Bus Duties)
- 4 hours of Program Preparation
- 2 hours of Program Wrap Up
- Total Hours 146
Qualifications
- Ability to assist with student activities
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks (ELA & Math)
- Knowledge of and experience with literacy instruction/intervention and project based learning
- Certification in CPR & First Aid preferred.
