POSITION: 21st Century After-School Program
@ Hyannis West Elementary School Grant-Funded Positions
(2) Part-Time Elementary Program Teacher Assistant
- Approx. 10 hours/week Ocober 6, 2025 (anticipated start date, could be delayed a week due to final grant budget approval) - June 11, 2026 Monday -Thursday
JOB GOAL: Provide assistance to teachers with project-based STEM enrichment activities for at-risk students in grades K-3 who may be struggling socially and/or academically so they can improve their engagement in learning and achieve academic success.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Dynamic, creative teaching assistant who enjoys working with at-risk youth.
- Knowledge of and experience with project-based learning are essential.
- Certified in CPR and First Aid or able to acquire certification within two months of employment. (Training may be provided.)
- Documented special skills/talents for assisting student interest clubs and/or activities in the area of STEM.
- Preference given to applicants who have experience with students who are at-risk academically and/or socially.
REPORTS TO: Principal; Program Coordinator; Site Coordinator
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist teachers with homework groups
- Assist Teachers with the implementation of PBL Curriculum
- Assist Teachers & Community Partners on enrichment activities
- Assist with Setting Up Classrooms & Learning Spaces
- Assist with Supervising Snack & Recess Time
- Follow Health & Safety Protocols
- Attend all applicable Orientations & Planning Sessions
- Assist Site Coordinator with data collection (SAYO’s) required by DESE
- Assist in other duties as needed
- Ensure Student Confidentiality
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: October - June - part-time grant funded positions
SALARY: $17/hour - not to exceed grant budget; Schedule to be determined - (Does not include benefits)
