We are seeking a reliable and hardworking individual to join our hatchery team in Warren, IN. The Hatchery Worker will be responsible for supporting daily hatchery operations, ensuring the health and safety of eggs, embryos and chicks, and maintaining a clean and efficient work environment. Seeking for 1st shift (7:00am to 3:30pm) and 2nd Shift (3:30pm to 11:00pm).
DESCRIPTION OF JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- VARIES WITH POSITION TAKEN
- Assist with egg traying, flow and with the incubation and hatching process of poultry eggs
- Handle and transfer chicks safely and efficiently
- Clean and sanitize hatchery equipment and work areas
- Monitor temperature, humidity, and other environmental conditions
- Record data accurately and follow biosecurity protocols
- Support loading and unloading of supplies and equipment
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Hatchery Manager
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to work independently and in a team
- A strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Must be able to communicate clearly in person and over the phone .
- Must possess a strong personality to ensure HLNA programs and policies are followed.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to animal welfare
- Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 20lbs, kneeling and twisting, with or without a reasonable accommodation
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays with advance notice
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Exposure to varying temperatures and humidity levels
- Standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods
- Handling live animals and working with hatchery equipment
