Join the NexGen Manufacturing Team
NexGen Manufacturing is looking for motivated, detail-oriented Machinists to join our growing Machine Shop team. Whether you're beginning your machining career or you're an experienced CNC professional, we offer opportunities to build your skills, work with modern equipment, and advance your career. We are hiring Manual Machinists along with Machinists Levels I through IV, with placement based on your experience and abilities.
As a Machinist at NexGen Manufacturing, you'll work with a variety of manual and CNC mills and lathes, producing high-quality precision components while maintaining our commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. From entry-level machine operation to advanced programming, setup, and mentoring responsibilities, you'll play an important role in delivering quality products to our customers.
What You’ll Do
Depending on your experience level, you will operate and set up manual and CNC machining equipment, load tooling and programs, inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment, interpret blueprints and engineering drawings, and maintain accurate production documentation. As your experience grows, you will independently perform machine setups, establish tooling and inspection methods, troubleshoot machining challenges, perform routine equipment maintenance, make G-code modifications, and mentor less experienced machinists. Senior-level machinists may also create 2D and 3D drawings, utilize Mastercam software, and serve as technical resources within the department.
We are looking for candidates at every stage of their machining career. Our Manual Machinist position is ideal for mechanically inclined individuals with experience operating manual mills and lathes who are interested in expanding their machining knowledge. Machinist I candidates should have one to two years of machining experience and a desire to learn CNC operations, machine setup, tooling, and inspection techniques. Machinist II candidates should possess three to five years of machining experience and be capable of independently setting up and operating CNC equipment, reading blueprints, preparing tooling, and performing first article inspections. Machinist III candidates should have six years or more of experience and demonstrate the ability to independently operate all department equipment, solve complex machining problems, perform machine maintenance, and make basic G-code modifications. Machinist IV candidates are highly skilled machinists with advanced CNC programming abilities who can read and write G-code, create 2D and 3D drawings, operate both CNC mills and lathes, utilize Mastercam software, and mentor developing machinists.
What We’re Looking For
Successful candidates will have strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality work. Experience reading blueprints, using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and tape measures, selecting tooling, and performing quality inspections is highly valued. We are looking for individuals who enjoy solving problems, work well independently and as part of a team, maintain organized work areas, and are committed to continuous learning and professional growth.
A high school diploma or GED is preferred, and vocational or trade school training is beneficial. Machining experience is required based on the position level, and forklift certification is required for Machinist II through IV positions.
This position requires standing and walking for extended periods, frequently lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while wearing required personal protective equipment, including hearing protection, safety glasses, and steel-toed footwear. Candidates must be able to safely inspect precision parts, operate machinery, and work comfortably in both warm and cool manufacturing conditions.
Benefits
NexGen Manufacturing offers competitive pay based on experience and skill level, comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, paid time off and holidays, career advancement opportunities, ongoing training and skill development, and employee recognition programs.
