WHAT YOU’LL DO…
- Work as a lead designer on water resource projects.
- Interact with clients, explaining scope and requirements at the clients’ comfort level.
- Provide direction and assistance throughout the project life cycle.
- Help the client understand how changes impact the project budget.
- Develop and supervise engineering work of municipal water, wastewater and stormwater projects.
- Conduct planning studies, guide design and construction phases of the project.
- Prepare preliminary engineering reports that meet the requirements of various funding agencies.
- Prepare bidding documents for municipal public works projects.
- Determine the scope of work involved and plan, lead and supervise the engineering work of the project team.
- Provide municipal engineering expertise to other individuals and work groups within the firm, which may involve the adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria.
- Interpret, organize, execute and coordinate engineering projects that have unique and complex criteria.
- Plan, develop, coordinate and direct large and important projects of major scope and importance.
- Lead and supervise technical team members.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
- 6 years’ of relevant, progressive experience in the civil engineering industry, with an emphasis on stormwater projects.
- Professional Engineering License in Indiana (or the ability to obtain licensure in the Indiana through reciprocity).
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to think critically, manage time and problem solve.
- Strong data analysis and organizational skills.
- Complete competence working well independently and on a team.
- Applicant must possess high ethical standards, have a strong sense of commitment to self-development, teamwork, and a desire to work in a deadline-driven team environment.
- Ability to oversee permit approvals for environmental, floodplain and stormwater projects.
- Experience with sewer system modeling software and analysis of separate and combined systems.
