What are the responsibilities and job description for the Milieu Therapist position at HVHS Brand?
Department: Psychiatric Unit, Work Hours: 72 hrs/ pay period. Primarily day and evening coverage with overnights as needed. Rotating weekends and Holidays.
Provides professional patient care for psychiatric patients on an acute care, inpatient setting under the delegation of the Psychiatric Clinical Supervisor and the Nurse Manager, Psychiatry, in accordance with regulatory guidelines. Supports the inpatient psychiatric unit with maintaining a therapeutic milieu and assists with crisis intervention. Facilitates groups for patients receiving inpatient care. Participates as a part of the multidisciplinary treatment team on care planning.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in mental health related field such as social work or psychology.
Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment.
Certification in crisis management within 6 months of hire.
Previous professional experience with psychiatric patients is preferred.
