Duties
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment (including ammonia refrigeration), and ventilation systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose issues and implement solutions.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure system reliability and compliance with safety standards.
- Use specialized tools such as ohmmeters for electrical testing and welding equipment for repairs requiring metal fabrication.
- Conduct field service visits at various property sites to perform equipment repairs, system upgrades, and troubleshooting tasks efficiently.
- Assist with plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems and property maintenance projects as needed.
- Document all service activities thoroughly in logs and reports; communicate clearly with team members regarding system status or required follow-up actions.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an HVAC service technician or mechanic with a strong background in construction and property maintenance.
- Knowledge of HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration), including refrigeration systems like ammonia refrigeration units.
- Mechanical knowledge of boilers, appliances, welding techniques, and equipment repair procedures.
- Ability to read schematics and HVAC design plans accurately; familiarity with electrical testing tools such as ohmmeters.
- Experience working with plumbing systems related to HVAC installations or repairs.
- Field service experience demonstrating the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues efficiently.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating
drivers is a plus. - Nice-to-have skills include welding certifications, familiarity with property maintenance protocols, knowledge of mechanical systems like pumps or compressors, and experience with HVAC/R equipment repair.
