About the Role
We’re working with a national leader in workplace solutions supporting a high-security, technically complex environment in the Washington, DC area. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on driving operational excellence across engineering and technical services within a fast-paced, performance-driven facility.
As a Technical Operations Manager, you’ll oversee a multidisciplinary team, support senior leadership, and implement strategic improvements to optimize service delivery. You’ll play a key role in bridging day-to-day operations with long-term planning, supporting initiatives that keep critical building systems running efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team that supports engineering operations, vendor coordination, and facilities performance across a diverse site portfolio.
- Liaise between internal leadership, site teams, and vendors to ensure work is completed efficiently and according to project timelines.
- Monitor and improve service delivery metrics, proactively resolving challenges before they escalate.
- Manage cost tracking, budgeting, and compliance-related documentation.
- Drive continuous improvement and standardization across operational processes.
- Contribute to a culture of safety, excellence, and accountability.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or trade school equivalent.
- 5–8 years in technical operations, facilities management, or engineering support.
- Proven leadership experience in team management and/or supervisory roles.
- Able to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks (walking, climbing ladders, etc.).
- Preferred: DC 1st Class Stationary Engineer License – Required.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Financial acumen and experience in budgeting/cost tracking.
- Experience working in complex environments such as government buildings, secure facilities, labs, or industrial settings.
