Job Description

This role is for several locations across Florida, starting in June. This role requires 100% travel.

This position often requires relocation. You may be assigned to various locations for different durations throughout your employment. While some locations may be near your current residence, others may be farther away. Many assignments will include stipends to assist with travel, living expenses, and meals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and actively promote site safety programs and daily field safety activities
  • Conduct field inspections, behavioral observations, hazard assessments, and maintain accurate safety documentation
  • Participate in safety audits, incident investigations, corrective action follow-up, and compliance initiatives
  • Assist with employee onboarding, safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety training coordination
  • Support site emergency response efforts and provide triage assistance during medical or emergency situations
  • Reinforce compliance with OSHA, MSHA, and company-specific safety standards and procedures
  • Work closely with site leadership and the Senior Safety Manager to strengthen and maintain a positive safety culture
  • Serve as a visible safety presence in the field by identifying risks, communicating concerns, and promoting proactive safety solutions
  • Assist with tracking safety metrics, training records, and regulatory documentation as needed

Requirements

  • Must be able to work 40 hours per week, including overtime as needed
  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Emergency Management, or related field preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience will be considered
  • Strong desire to build and support a world-class safety culture in mining or heavy industrial operations
  • Working knowledge of OSHA standards; willingness to learn and apply MSHA regulations and site-specific safety requirements
  • Experience supporting or coordinating safety training programs preferred
  • Emergency medical response, EMT, First Responder, military medic, or related emergency response experience highly preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational, leadership, and team collaboration skills
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-oriented in high-pressure situations
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and proactive problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to regularly push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 lbs throughout the work shift
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, handle or feel objects, reach, stoop, kneel, and crouch in active industrial environments
  • Must have a favorable driving record for the past 5 years
  • Must successfully pass detailed Criminal Background, Motor Vehicle Record, and Drug Screen checks

Preferred

  • Strong team collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific safety procedures (construction, mining, etc.).
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making in high-pressure situations.
  • Experience administering emergency care (CPR, trauma management, etc.).
  • Knowledge of safety standards (OSHA, local/state regulations).
  • Proficiency in medical record-keeping and reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under stress.

Licenses / Certifications

  • OSHA 10-Hour required
  • One of the following BCSP certifications: CSP, ASP, CHST, OHST, SMS
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification preferred
  • Candidates with 10 years of relevant industrial safety experience will also be strongly considered in lieu of certification
  • EMT, CPR/First Aid, or emergency medical certifications highly preferred
