Facilities Manager
Compensation: Starting pay rate of $77,000-97,000/yr triannual performance-based bonuses.
Location: Minneapolis, KS
Lead and manage the companywide maintenance and safety program for a 115 years privately held family business. Huyett, a master distributor and manufacturer of industrial fasteners, is seeking a highly skilled and organized manager to lead all aspects of custodial operations, facilities and grounds maintenance, machinery upkeep, and our corporate safety program across six sites encompassing warehousing, manufacturing, and corporate office environments. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and ensure accountability for custodial, mechanical, and facilities functions across all Huyett sites. Direct day-to-day operations for facility cleanliness, machine maintenance, and grounds care. Expect 10-15% travel to off-site locations.
- Selection, coaching, mentoring, and development of a team encompassing 3-5 maintenance professional direct reports.
- Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs and ensure minimal disruption to operations.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and company safety protocols, including OSHA, hazardous materials, emergency action plans, and facility security standards.
- Develop and manage vendor relationships and service contracts for external maintenance, grounds, and custodial services.
- Own the Corporate Safety Program including safety audits, equipment checks, and employee safety training via a corporate Learning Management Software (LMS).
- Partner with Operations and HR to support accident reporting, safety investigations, and EHS training.
- Stewardship of the Huyett Culture of Excellence.
Qualifications:

- Excellent organizational, time management, and problem resolution skills.
- Experience in facilities or maintenance management, ideally in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience in leading teams, managing vendors, and guiding safety programs.
- Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and custodial systems.
- Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities across geographically dispersed sites.
- Familiarity with OSHA standards, ISO protocols, and 6-S/Lean practices is a plus.
- Experience with work order systems and/or computerized maintenance management software (CMMS) preferred.
- High school diploma required; technical degree or certifications (e.g., OSHA 30, HVAC, LEAN) are a plus.
Work Environment: This is a manufacturing plant environment. Exposure to high temperatures, moving machinery, moving equipment, heights, and confined spaces.
