What are the responsibilities and job description for the Small Engine Mechanic/Groundskeeper position at Hutto Independent School District?
Primary Purpose:
Maintains/repairs power equipment such as portable saws, mowers, weed eaters, custodial vacuum cleaners (hand-held and backpack) and also maintains safe and attractive grounds and landscaping for the district.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school graduate or GED equivalent
Valid Texas driver’s license, insurable with Hutto ISD insurance carrier, and a good driving record
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repairs and maintenance
Knowledge of, and ability to operate, tractors, work trucks, Z-trac mowers, weed trimmers, blowers, power tools, hand tools, gasoline backpack blowers, etc...
Ability to trim shrubs/trees, rake and mulch, plant trees and shrubs, etc.
Ability to lift 50 lbs
Ability to read and understand written instructions
Ability to communicate in English
Experience:
1-3 years’ experience in small engine mechanics, groundskeeping and landscape maintenance
Salary : $17 - $21
