Summary:
The Assistant Manager / Team Leader helps oversee the daily operations of Hickory Pit BBQ, ensuring excellent food quality, fast service, and an outstanding customer experience. Key Responsibilities
Daily Operations & Leadership
Lead the team during shifts and maintain a positive, productive work environment.
- Open and/or close the kitchen following proper procedures.
- Monitor workflow to ensure smooth, fast service during peak times.
- Solve customer and staff issues promptly and professionally.
- Maintain communication between kitchen and front counter so orders go out correctly.

Food Prep & Quality Control
Ensure all menu items are prepared according to Hickory Pit BBQ standards.
- Oversee proper portioning, temperature control, and food safety procedures.
- Monitor freshness of meats, sides, sauces, breads, and ingredients.
- Ensure BBQ pits, steam tables, warmers, slicers, and equipment are used safely.

Verify that all orders (dinein, takeout, callin, online ordering) are entered correctly.
- Ensure kitchen tickets are readable and organized.
