What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recreation/ID Student Worker Attendant (STF2917) position at Hutchinson Community College?
Hours: 11:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and Friday 11:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. (Hours may vary)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential –
- Issue student parking permits and log them.
- Monitor activities in the recreation area of the student union building and wellness center.
- Print ID cards for students, faculty & staff.
- Distribute equipment such as pool cues and ping pong paddles.
- Collect appropriate fees for recreation equipment and ID replacements.
- Enforce rules of the recreation area.
Secondary –
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Student Activities and Recreation/ID Supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Excellent computer skills required, with knowledge in Microsoft Word and E-mail.
- The ability to accept supervision/instruction, and the ability to work effectively with students, staff, faculty and the public.
- Physical requirements include the ability to operate office equipment; excellent communication skills; the ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
- Physical requirements: Excellent verbal, written and listening skills; Must have the ability to sit for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to dial a telephone, to enter data into a computer, and to operate additional office equipment; to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone; to use appropriate judgment and to apply tact and courtesy in difficult situations; the ability to understand words and respond effectively and appropriately; attentive to detail, accurately follow written and verbal instructions, work independently, Sedentary/Indoor work environment with a substantial amount of keyboarding required; Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.

WAGE and STATUS:
The hourly rate of pay is commensurate with qualifications as determined by HutchCC administration. This part-time student position is nonexempt and at will. Due to the part-time status, this position does not qualify for the HutchCC fringe benefit package.
