Assistant Softball Coach, Part-Time (STF2165)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Functions –

• Assist the head softball coach in total administration of the softball program.
• Perform practice and game preparation.
• Recruit prospective student-athletes.
• Monitor student-athlete academic progress.
• Perform administrative responsibilities.
• Arrive on time for work, attend work regularly, and successfully complete the responsibilities of the position.
• Comply with HutchCC policies, procedures, and practices.

Secondary –

• Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Head Softball Coach.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Collegiate coaching and/or playing experience required.
• Pitching experience preferred.
• Physical requirements include the ability to lift 50 pounds.

• Excellent time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to build professional relationships and work effectively with students, staff, community members and others.

• Mental requirements include the ability to learn and comprehend basic instructions about the position.
• Physical requirements include excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills; visual acuity to view a computer terminal; this position is rated at the medium level with both an indoor/outdoor work environment; the ability to understand words and respond effectively and appropriately; Use appropriate judgment and apply tact and courtesy in difficult situations;
• Physical and mental qualifications must be performed with or without a reasonable accommodation.

SALARY and STATUS:

The hourly rate of pay is commensurate with qualifications as determined by HutchCC administration.  This part-time support staff position is not benefit eligible (Possibly KPERS eligible), at-will, and nonexempt.
