Registered Nurse

Hutchings Psychiatric Center (HPC), an Office of Mental Health (OMH) Joint Commission accredited facility, is recruiting Registered Nurses to join their nursing team. Positions are available on day, evening, and night shift, including every other weekend. No previous psychiatric experience is required.

As a Registered Nurse at HPC, you are a vital member of a multi-disciplinary team focused on providing compassionate care through patient-centered and recovery-focused mental health services to individuals with mental illness including:

• Coordinating and providing nursing care
• Conducting nursing assessments
• Preparing, implementing, and modifying nursing care plans
• Providing health teaching, counseling, and education to individuals and families
• Implementing infection control protocols and procedures
• Observing and recording individual’s symptoms and care; reporting responses to medications or changes in health

About OMH Nurse Residency Program:

The OMH Nurse Residency Program (NRP) is a twelve-month training program provided to newly hired RN graduate nurses and nurses new to psychiatric nursing practice. Minimum Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse 1 Psychiatric
• NYS License and current registration to practice as a professional nurse.
