Assistant Manager

We are more than just a hot dog joint. Steve’s Hot Dogs is a St. Louis institution serving creative twists on delicious classics, and we’re looking for an experienced Assistant Manager to help lead our Chesterfield team.

The Assistant Manager works alongside the General Manager to support daily restaurant operations, lead the team, maintain our standards, and create a great experience for both our guests and employees. We’re looking for someone who isn’t afraid to jump in, lead from the floor, and help the team succeed.

What You'll Do

• Lead from the Floor: Be a hands-on leader who works alongside the team, leads shifts, provides direction, and holds employees accountable.
• Coach & Develop the Team: Help train, motivate, and develop team members while creating a positive, team-oriented work environment.
• Support Daily Operations: Assist the General Manager with opening and closing procedures, scheduling needs, inventory, ordering, cash handling, and other daily responsibilities.
• Manage Labor & Costs: Monitor labor during shifts, minimize waste, and help the restaurant meet its financial and operational goals.
• Deliver a ROCK STAR Guest Experience: Ensure guests receive friendly, accurate, and efficient service while addressing concerns quickly and professionally.
• Maintain Our Standards: Ensure food quality, cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards are consistently followed.
• Support the General Manager: Communicate proactively, help identify and solve problems, and assist with implementing restaurant goals and expectations.

What We're Looking For

• 2–3 years of management or supervisory experience required
• Restaurant, food service, or hospitality experience required
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Experience coaching and holding team members accountable
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Strong organization and problem-solving skills
• Dependable, positive, and willing to lead by example
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
