The A/R Specialist is responsible for ensuring timely payment of invoices and timely resolution of deductions on open accounts for the Consumer Division accounts. With experience, the A/R Specialist will manage larger accounts.
What You Need to Know:
- Researches and denies shortage claims providing copies of shipping documents, BOLS, and PODs to customers
- Researches shipping fines providing necessary back up and reports issues to management
- Manages and reports on CPI related deductions and clears approved deductions to GL upon approval
- Handles incoming call from customers on phone loop
- Researches and resolves disputes taken by customers for pricing and other issues
- Interacts with sales and customer service on status of accounts and any issues requiring action.
- Coordinates reports on AR balances for management
- Monitors and researches payment issues
- High School diploma or equivalency
- 1-5 years’ experience in accounts receivable management and collection
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail while working in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of MS office software applications, including advanced skills in Excel
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
- Strong initiative and the ability to be self-directed in prioritizing and completing tasks
- Willingness and ability to work extended hours, including overtime as business requires
