In this role, you will be helping to extend the longevity of Husky equipment by installing products such as Encore and Refurbishment upgrades. These upgrades bring legacy injection molding equipment up to date with new technologies and control systems extending their operating lifespan. Note: This position requires frequent travel throughout the USA during the business week, as well as some weekends. On occasion, there will be requirements to travel outside of the USA to support projects or for training. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Support the Installation of Husky’s Encore products. This involves removing obsolete controls technology with replacing with today’s latest and greatest Use electrical schematics provided to rewire cabinets accommodate new PLCs and related I/O, as well as other circuits. Install mechanical components using mechanical drawings as an instruction set. Work with Lead Encore Technicians to ensure Husky customers are achieving the best possible running conditions of our products Assume complete ownership of equipment from shutdown to the startup equipment after the Encore Upgrade has been applied to ensure customer satisfaction Interact with Husky call center, engineering and customers to document and resolve electrical and mechanical issues with the injection molding system Submit continuous improvement initiatives towards product or process Mentor new team members and customers to correctly start-up and troubleshoot equipment. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field and >2 years of experience in a Service Engineer role, Service Technician, Electrical Engineer, or related occupation in industrial setting. Willingness to travel for periods of two weeks at a time, throughout the year. ALSO REQUIRES EXPERIENCE IN: Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, hydraulic and mechanical drawings. Troubleshooting and repairing equipment in an industrial setting, including some knowledge on auxiliary devices, robots, servo systems, and tuning a machine for optimal performance Working in a team setting with 1-2 other Service Technicians Experience working in an injection mold environment would be preferred, but not mandatory.
