Postline Operator A 1st shift Plant 1

Payrate: 22.09 to $23.71 Hours: 5:00am to 3:30pm (Monday - Thursday w/mandatory OT on Friday and Saturday based on business need. TITLE: Post Line Operator A            Job Summary   Perform various duties to set up and operate coil handling and feeding equipment, punch press and rolling mill to produce a variety of metal posts of standard sizes following standard practices and procedures.   Essential job Requirements Must have basic mechanical skills to make machine adjustments and repairs. Must be able to learn use of controls and computer settings to operate multiple machines. Able to move in a fast paced environment. Good attendance record Essential Job Functions Set piercing and slotting die in punch press and align leveler and unreeler with die. Mount coils of steel on unreeler using fork lift and overhead crane. Cut bands on coil and feed material to meet end of preceding strip and operate tig welder to splice new coil. Use hand electric grinder to clean weld. Set up, change over and adjust roll former to form various types of posts. Check setting of rolls with feeler gauge, make manual adjustments as required. Feed strip through rollers, check sizes with scale and fixed gauges. Control speed of rolling mill to synchronize with punch press and set cut off for desired post length. Mix and add water and water soluble coolant as required. Make necessary adjustments and perform minor and routine maintenance to equipment. Handle coils of stock to position for mounting on reel using fork lift and overhead electrical crane. Train, instruct, assign and check work of lower level operator in set ups, change overs, adjustments, and post line operation. Detect and report any material defects, major equipment malfunctions, other problems to the supervisor. Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition. Follow all safety rules, regulations and practices. Salary : $22 - $24
