What are the responsibilities and job description for the Startup Growth Fellow position at Hush?
Startup Growth Fellow
Location: Hybrid (West Hartford, CT preferred)
Reports to: Director of Sales
Company: Hush
About the Opportunity
As a Startup Growth Fellow, you'll work directly with the Director of Sales at a venture-backed AI company during an exciting stage of growth.
This role offers broad exposure to how an early-stage technology company scales. You'll gain experience across enterprise (B2B) sales, private client (B2C) relationships, go-to-market strategy, operations, customer success, partnerships, AI-enabled workflows, and strategic initiatives. Every project is designed to build practical skills while contributing to meaningful work.
You'll participate in customer meetings, conduct research, build AI-powered workflows, improve internal processes, and help solve real business challenges. Along the way, you'll develop a practical understanding of how companies commercialize products, serve customers, and grow after raising venture capital.
We're looking for someone who is intellectually curious, enjoys solving problems, and wants to accelerate their understanding of startups through hands-on experience.
What You'll Learn
Over the course of the fellowship, you'll gain practical experience in:
Enterprise (B2B) sales strategy and relationship management
Private client (B2C) sales and concierge customer experience
Startup operations and cross-functional execution
Go-to-market strategy and commercialization
AI productivity tools and workflow automation
Executive communication and presentation development
Customer onboarding and account management
Market research and competitive intelligence
Partnership development
Strategic problem solving in a fast-moving environment
You'll leave with a deep understanding of how an early-stage technology company grows after raising venture capital.
What You'll Do
No two weeks are the same, but responsibilities may include:
Support enterprise and private client initiatives
Research prospective customers, industries, and markets
Build AI-assisted workflows and operational improvements
Prepare executive briefings and customer materials
Assist with customer onboarding and account management
Analyze business processes and recommend improvements
Help coordinate strategic partnerships and special projects
Attend customer and internal strategy meetings
Conduct competitive and market intelligence research
Take ownership of projects from idea through execution
If something needs to be built, improved, researched, or solved, there's a good chance you'll be involved.
Who You Are
You don't need to know everything.
We're looking for someone who is:
Naturally curious
Exceptionally organized
Comfortable with ambiguity
Excited by AI and emerging technology
A strong written and verbal communicator
Resourceful and proactive
Willing to take ownership
Interested in startups and entrepreneurship
Experience with ChatGPT, Claude, Excel, Google Workspace, Notion, or CRM platforms is a plus, but not required.
What Makes This Different
Most internships teach you one function.
This fellowship exposes you to nearly every part of building and growing a technology company.
You'll work directly with company leadership, contribute to meaningful initiatives, and gain exposure to decisions that are typically reserved for much more senior employees.
If you're looking for a structured internship with repetitive tasks, this probably isn't the right fit.
If you're excited by solving new problems every day, learning quickly, and helping build something from the ground up, we'd love to meet you.
