Job Summary:
We are seeking a Project Manager to join our civil engineering team in our Blacksburg office and lead the successful delivery of complex civil engineering projects within specified timelines and budgets. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of civil engineering principles and proven experience in full project lifecycle management. Must have a valid drivers license in good standing with a minimum of 3 years licensed driving experience.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage comprehensive project plans and schedules.
- Coordinate effectively with engineers, contractors, and various stakeholders throughout project execution.
- Oversee the design, construction, and overall completion of projects.
- Monitor project budgets and expenditures to ensure financial targets are met.
- Coordinate workload distribution among engineers and designers involved in projects.
- Ensure strict adherence to quality and safety standards in all project phases.
- Communicate project progress to stakeholders, managing expectations proactively.
- Foster business development by nurturing client relationships and expanding the existing client base.
Qualifications:
- Self-motivated individual with a proactive and positive approach.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while delivering exceptional client service and overseeing employees effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in consulting engineering practices is preferred.
- Minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in civil engineering, including at least 5 years in project management roles.
- Possession of a valid PE (Professional Engineer) license in good standing from the Commonwealth of Virginia preferred but not required.
