Huron helps its clients drive growth, enhance performance and sustain leadership in the markets they serve. We help healthcare organizations build innovation capabilities and accelerate key growth initiatives, enabling organizations to own the future, instead of being disrupted by it. Together, we empower clients to create sustainable growth, optimize internal processes and deliver better consumer outcomes.

Health systems, hospitals and medical clinics are under immense pressure to improve clinical outcomes and reduce the cost of providing patient care. Investing in new partnerships, clinical services and technology is not enough to create meaningful and substantive change. To succeed long-term, healthcare organizations must empower leaders, clinicians, employees, affiliates and communities to build cultures that foster innovation to achieve the best outcomes for patients.

Joining the Huron team means you'll help our clients evolve and adapt to the rapidly changing healthcare environment and optimize existing business operations, improve clinical outcomes, create a more consumer-centric healthcare experience, and drive physician, patient and employee engagement across the enterprise.

Join our team as the expert you are now and create your future.

As the Integration Oversight Lead, you will be the senior technical authority and strategic lead responsible for overseeing a portfolio of interfaces during a large-scale legacy EHR replacement. You will leverage your deep expertise in both legacy systems and the new Oracle Health (Cerner) platform to guide all interface design, development, and decommissioning efforts. Your primary objective is to ensure a seamless, secure, and strategically planned transition of data from legacy systems to the new platform, mitigating technical risks and ensuring business continuity.

As a seasoned technical leader who can operate both strategically and tactically, you will manage the entire lifecycle of an interface portfolio, from initial design analysis to creating and managing formal decommissioning plans. You will be a planner, a risk manager, and a technical advisor, providing expert input on architectural documents and courses of action. Success in this role requires a rare combination of deep integration knowledge (HL7, middleware), legacy system familiarity, and the ability to brief senior leadership with clarity and confidence.

As the Integration Oversight Lead, you will:

  • Serve as the primary technical expert and advisor on a portfolio of interfaces, engaging directly with legacy system owners, business leaders, and vendor partners.
  • Prepare and deliver clear, concise technical briefs and recommendations to senior program leadership to drive decision-making
  • Facilitate and coordinate project meetings, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned and action items are tracked to completion
  • Manage the entire portfolio of assigned interfaces, including developing and tracking timelines for their transition to sustainment
  • Develop and manage comprehensive plans for the decommissioning of legacy interfaces, a critical component of the migration strategy
  • Provide expert technical input on architecture documents and courses of action (COAs), applying deep knowledge of message routing, filtering, and transformation
  • Oversee the interface lifecycle from a technical perspective, including design, development, testing, and cutover planning
  • Proactively identify, analyze, and drive the resolution of technical challenges, gaps, and risks, escalating to leadership as needed
  • Review and provide expert feedback on technical artifacts, including Interface Control Documents (ICDs)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree, Master's preferred for senior or lead roles
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare IT, with a significant focus on systems integration, interface architecture, or technical project leadership.
  • Advanced knowledge of the Oracle Health (Cerner) platform and its integration capabilities is required
  • Expert-level knowledge of HL7 standards, interface lifecycle management, and middleware architecture. Direct experience with legacy system data migration and interface decommissioning is essential
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in dynamic, cross-functional environments
  • Experience with documentation and structured reporting as well as familiarity with productivity and tracking tools
  • Experience working within the DoD, Veteran's Health Administration (VHA) or Military Hospital System (MHS) a plus
  • Candidates must comply with applicable client requirements, such as immunization and occupational health mandates
  • Willingness to travel to client sites 20% of the time and perform remote work as needed
