The Huron Intermediate School District is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team for the 2026/2027 school year. This position provides an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting students with communication needs across a variety of educational settings.
Position Summary
The Speech-Language Pathologist provides speech-language pathology services to address the needs of students with disabilities that affect speech, communication, and/or language skills. Students may receive speech-language services as either a primary or related service. Services are provided to eligible students whose speech, language, or communication disability adversely affects their educational performance.
Responsibilities
- Conduct speech and language evaluations to determine eligibility for special education services.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on student needs.
- Provide direct and consultative speech-language services in accordance with students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams to support student success.
- Maintain required documentation, progress monitoring, and compliance with state and federal special education regulations.
- Participate in IEP meetings and communicate effectively with families and educational staff.
Qualifications
Education
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
Certification
- Michigan licensed or eligible for temporary licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; Clinical Fellowship candidates are encouraged to apply if eligible for temporary licensure.
