Huron County Engineer’s Office – Mechanic
The Huron County Engineer’s Office is accepting applications for the full-time position of Mechanic.
Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of mechanical equipment in the county highway department. Employee performs generally skilled equipment repair work. Responsible for the careful and safe operation of a variety of motorized equipment. This may require being on call 24 hours a day. Rate of pay will be $27.92 after a 180-day probationary period. Applicant must possess a valid State of Ohio Class A or B CDL and maintain insurability under the Engineer’s insurance policy.
Qualifications for the position are completion of secondary education or equivalent and one (1) to two (2) years of experience working as a professional mechanic; or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Potential candidates must be able to pass a DOT drug screen and background check.
