TITLE: Instructional Aide Middle School, Long-Term Substitiute
LOCATION: Dr. Kevin M. Hurley Middle School
RATE OF PAY: Salary range of $15.20 to $21.90 per hour
The instructional aide assists teachers and/or building administrators in the supervision and instruction of students in the classroom during instructional periods and through the school environment as determined by the principal or designee.
Reports to: Building Principal/Assistant Principal
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates must minimally have the following:
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, with children and adults
- Demonstrated ability to work well with teachers, students, and administrators
- One of the following:
- A Bachelor’s Degree
- An Associate’s Degree
- A passing score on the Paraprofessional Assessment
Responsibilities & Essential Functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Supports students in classroom learning.
- Under the supervision of a certified teacher, prepare for classroom activities.
- Assist in preparing class displays/bulletin boards and caring for equipment.
- Assist in duties relating to the supervision of the playground, study hall, cafeteria, bus loading, etc.
- Participate in in-service training programs when appropriate.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the building principal.
