Job Title: Parent Advocate
Reports to: Jay Iadarola
Purpose: To build relationships with our families in the Hurley community and help plan community events. The Parent Advocate position will serve as a bridge between families and the school, providing support to improve student success. Their duties include assessing family needs, connecting families with resources, and helping parents navigate the educational system, especially for students with special needs. They also promote parent engagement, provide education and training, and act as a liaison between parents and school staff.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with families
- Plan community events
- Work with students and become a trusted adult
- Work with CIS and student services on how to support our families
- Plan, coordinate, and conduct the Federal Programs "Parent & Family Engagement" activities at the district level.
- Design supplemental activities, workshops, and trainings to support student achievement and to address academic gaps identified by both the district and school-level data.
- Be knowledgeable of community agencies and district personnel to refer parents whose child has educational needs
- Plan and work collaboratively with other programs in the district to offer services to students and families as it relates to Federal Programs.
- Provide parents and families with supplemental learning packets/resources to address academic needs.
- Responsible for other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Salary : $41,000 - $55,950
