Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Salesperson role based at Hurdle’s Jewelry in downtown Boulder, CO. The Salesperson will welcome customers, listen to their needs, and guide them in selecting fine jewelry pieces, engagement rings, and custom designs. Daily responsibilities include presenting merchandise, explaining product features and care, processing sales and returns, facilitating repairs, appraisals, buying gold and maintaining accurate point-of-sale records. The role involves keeping display cases organized and appealing, assisting with inventory counts, and coordinating basic repairs or special orders. The Salesperson will also support store events, build long-term customer relationships, and uphold Hurdle’s Jewelry’s standards of professional, courteous service.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and long-term client relationships.
- Sales and retail experience, including consultative selling, upselling, and closing transactions.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills, with professional phone and in-person etiquette.
- Attention to detail and basic math skills for accurate pricing, discounts, and transaction handling.
- Comfort using point-of-sale systems and basic computer applications.
- Interest in fine jewelry, gemstones, and watch or jewelry care; prior jewelry experience is a plus.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, move merchandise safely, and work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in retail, sales, or gemology is beneficial.
