Overview
Job Summary: Prepares, measures, and administers radiopharmaceuticals in diagnostic and therapeutic studies, utilizing variety of equipment and following prescribed procedures: Prepares stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials, calculates doses, and administers doses, under direction of physician. Calibrates equipment. Performs diagnostic studies on patients as prescribed by physician, using scanners or scintillation cameras to detect radiation emitted and to produce image of organ. Measures radioactivity, using Geiger counters, scalers, and scintillation detectors. Administers therapeutic doses of radiopharmaceuticals under direction of physician. Follows radiation safety techniques in use and disposal of radioactive materials.

Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate of an Accredited CNMT Program preferred. License, Certification and/or Registration: CNMT Registry Preferred, RT(R) with appropriate training accepted. BLS must be obtained during orientation period Experience: Minimum of one-year clinic experience in direct patient care setting. Requires proficiency at a technical level not requiring constant supervision in nuclear medicine. Additional Skill/Abilities:Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing task frequently and quickly.Must be able to work in a team environment.Must be able to use a computer terminal, fax machine, and copy machine.
