Huntsville Compounding Pharmacy is a compounding only pharmacy. We serve the community's need for medications not produced by drug companies including pediatric, veterinary, hormones, dermatologic, sexual health, and many others.
Role Description
This is a full-time position for a Pharmacist located in Huntsville, Alabama. Outside the lab, the Pharmacist will take and process prescriptions, develop formulations, perform new patient consultations, answer questions about over-the-counter supplements, and supervise technicians. Within the lab, the Pharmacist is responsible for accurately preparing and compounding medications, including measuring chemicals, operating lab equipment in a safe and efficient manner, and supervising technicians. Pharmacists are responsible for ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory standards, appropriate use of personal protective equipment, keeping accurate records, providing top notch customer service, and maintaining a pristine environment.
In compounding, a high level of critical thinking, creativity, attention to detail, and independent thought is required. Candidates must be willing to take initiative, multi-task, and be comfortable problem solving unique situations while working within guidelines, policies, and procedures. Pharmacists must be comfortable with patient interactions discussing sensitive subjects while making the patient feel at ease.
Applicants must have an active license to practice in Alabama, live in the Huntsville area, and be ready for a challenging career change with a steep learning curve. Experience working in hospital, home infusion pharmacy, clean room, or lab environment is helpful but not required. Training in hormones and sterile compounding will be made available as needed.
Qualifications
- Experience working as a Pharmacist
- Location in Huntsville, Alabama or surrounding areas
- Sterile or non-sterile compounding experience is preferred
- Active Pharmacist license in the state of Alabama
- Excellent Customer Service skills
