EHS Manager
Huntsman is seeking an EHS Manager to support the Performance Products Division located in Freeport, Texas. This position will report to the Regional EHS Sr. Manager.
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that Huntsman Performance Products, Freeport Site conducts its business in accordance with all corporate and regulatory policies, procedures, and acts of law regarding environment, health and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Directs the activities of the site environmental, health and safety group to coordinate efforts toward a common goal of providing an environmentally sound, safe and healthy work environment for employees, as well as the neighboring community.
- Directs the implementation of federal, state, and local governmental policies and regulations in matters of environmental, health and safety and assures compliance in all matters under direction.
- Administers Environmental, Health & Safety policies, evaluates work, and makes recommendations to Site Manager on hiring, promotions, salaries, and release of people under direction.
- Acts as an advisor to the Site Manager in all matters pertaining to environmental compliance, health and safety, including but not limited to legal matters.
- Directs and coordinates activities of Huntsman Performance Products, Freport Site's medical needs including but not limited to medical surveillance, return-to-work authorization and new-hire onboarding.
- In conjunction with managers of other site departments, assists the Site Manager in setting site policies, practices and procedures for operating the plant safely and compliantly to maximize profits.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Safety, Industrial Hygiene or related field with 7 years of related work experience OR 10 years of EHS experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
- Broad knowledge of environmental, health and safety regulations and laws governing chemical manufacturing facilities.
- High technical and analytical abilities to identify environmental, health and safety trends and to act to meet these requirements with minimum disruption and expense.
- Ability to coordinate the activities of environmental, occupational health, industrial hygiene and safety personnel in all matters pertaining to EHS compliance at the site.
- Proficiency with Internet, Email, and Microsoft Office programs.
- Previous experience interacting local emergency responders (FD, Hazmat, etc.).
- Previous experience maintaining compliance with PSM/RMP regulated facilities.
- Certifications in one or more applicable areas of environmental, health, and safety.
