Facilitates overall stroke program growth. The Stroke RN Coordinator coordinates and case manages the neurologic patient from the Emergency Room through Rehabilitation; provides patient education from admission to discharge, participates in stroke related community events, and supports group facilitation; demonstrates interdisciplinary collaboration. EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree (BSN) required. Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) will be considered if enrolled in a BSN program with degree completion within 2 years of date of hire or date of transfer to an RN position. Diploma or transcripts on highest degree earned required. EXPERIENCE/TRAINING: Minimum 3-5 years recent experience in the acute neurosciences/critical care/emergency department. LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Required: Current unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) Current Basic Life Support Provider (BLS) issued by American Heart Association Current National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification within 30 days of hire/transfer Preferred: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Provider (ACLS) issued by American Heart Association RN Specialty Certification SKILLS: Data collection/database management skills.
