Huntington University is seeking a Graduate Assistant to support its summer Academic Camps on campus. This role is ideal for a graduate student interested in recreational leadership and management, youth programming, educational leadership, and event coordination. The position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in planning and executing impactful youth camps that align with the university’s mission of Christ-centered service and academic excellence.This position reports directly to the Director of Pre-College Programs and works collaboratively with various campus departments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Enrolled in a graduate program at Huntington University or eligible for graduate assistantship.
- Strong personal faith in Jesus Christ and alignment with the university’s mission.
- Experience in youth leadership, education, or camp programming preferred.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Availability for full-time work during camp weeks in June and July.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate the programming and execution of academic camps, including scheduling, registration, housing, meals, and recreational activities.
- Provide logistical leadership during camp weeks, including on-site presence and camper engagement,
- Collaborate with faculty and staff across departments such as Admissions, Conferences & Events, Food Services, and Housing.
- Help ensure camps include Christian missional elements and maintain a safe, welcoming environment.
- Support summer staff oversite and overall camper wellbeing.
- Assist with budget tracking and basic administrative tasks related to camp operations.
Compensation: $8,500 stipend
Term: Spring Semester 2026 through July 2026
Hours: Limited during Spring Semester; Full-time during approximately 4 weeks of summer camps in June and July
Work Environment:
- Office, on-campus and off-campus settings; business casual dress.
- Some evening and weekend work required during camp periods.
