Summary:

The QA Testing Analyst III is responsible for the creation and review of test deliverables, preparation of test data, execution of manual testing tasks, the identification, resolution, and management of defects and the reporting of testing status. They are seen as thought leaders and subject matter experts within their team and provide testing guidance and mentorship to colleagues within their team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review requirements, architectural, and technical design deliverables and provide feedback to ensure testability and drive defect prevention.
  • Lead test planning, strategy, and estimation for medium to large scale efforts.
  • Drive the design, review, and execution of test cases, ensuring mapping to requirements and technical design deliverables, verifying traceability and coverage.
  • Run advanced database queries to supply data validation within test scripts.
  • Perform functional, smoke, sprint/integration, performance, regression, and risk-based testing and prioritization of test coverage.
  • Drive and ensure capture of all testing information in appropriate testing tools.
  • Drive team in ensuring identification, documentation, analysis, and triage of defects.
  • Assign defect severity and manage defects through resolution.
  • Actively participate in or lead daily meetings / stand-ups and provide status updates for testing efforts.
  • Provide support and guidance for User Acceptance Testing as needed.
  • Ensure completion, documentation, and signoffs for all aspects of testing.
  • Create test results and summary deliverables verifying readiness for production implementation.
  • Drive and support ongoing maintenance of regression test beds.
  • Participate in and drive testing activities for off-hour production implementation verification, validation of system quality and warranty support.
  • Adhere to and serve as a subject matter expert on Huntington standards, policies, and procedures related to software delivery.
  • Collaborate within the team to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives and defect prevention strategies for testing.
  • Actively participate in all team meetings and ceremonies as well as in broader technology forums.
  • Provide leadership and testing guidance to junior and mid-level colleagues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a similar role.
  • 5 years of experience in a testing role.
  • Strong demonstrated understanding of SDLC lifecycles and frameworks such as Waterfall, Iterative, and Agile.
  • Strong demonstrated understanding of Software Testing Lifecycle (STLC), testing principles and methods, terminology, and industry best practices.
  • Experience creating test strategies and test plans.
  • Strong experience analyzing and translating requirements and technical designs into test deliverables.
  • Strong demonstrated ability to drive design and execution of test cases for multiple modules.
  • Strong demonstrated experience with Functional, Smoke, Sprint/Integration, Regression, and Performance testing.
  • Strong demonstrated experience with SQL and writing queries for data validation.
  • Strong demonstrated understanding of relational, non-relational, and/or mainframe data storage and test data requirements with experience planning for and conditioning data for complex test scenarios.
  • Strong demonstrated understanding of Huntington standards, policies, and procedures related to software delivery.
  • Strong demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis for bugs and defects with proven expertise in defect management.
  • Strong experience with and subject matter expertise in Test Management Tools.
  • Experience using software packages or tools for processing and displaying data.
  • Experience creating test summaries and status reports.
  • Strong demonstrated experience with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to align technical solutions with technology strategy and business goals while proactively identifying opportunities to add value through IT initiatives.
  • Able to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines across projects while optimizing personal productivity and facilitating discussions with stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a testing role in the financial industry or similarly regulated institution.
  • Advanced SQL expertise for data validation.
  • Experience with Risk-based Testing.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO).
  • Exposure to or understanding of Test Automation.
