Annual Contractual Salary - $51,434.50 per year/40 hours per week
Excellent opportunity for a qualified candidate to serve as a County Park Ranger in the Hunterdon County Department of Administrative Services, Division of Parks. This position will provide the opportunity to train alongside seasoned Park Rangers securing the park system and serving the public who enjoy that system. County Park Rangers provide information to the public about park use, natural phenomena, safety requirements, and points of interest. They may perform certain park maintenance duties as needed. May participate in educational programs for park visitors on the natural and historic features of the area. Under direction will enforce the laws, regulations, and policies regarding the use of the park system by the public. Rangers will provide first-aid and participate in rescue activities as needed. These examples of work are for illustrative purposes, additional duties may be assigned; conversely, there may be duties listed that are not assigned. These positions are assigned ten-hour shifts which include evenings and weekends.
Requirements: This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. You must be at least eighteen years of age, and you will be required to submit to a background check including criminal history. Bilingual skills are a plus.
Hunterdon County offers excellent health and dental benefits, paid leave, paid holidays and this position is eligible for participation in the New Jersey State Retirement System.
