Hunterdon Hematology Oncology is a private medical practice that specializes in chemotherapy, infusions, and radiation treatments, as well as innovative treatments like immunotherapy and personalized targeted therapy to provide the best possible outcomes for our patients.
We are seeking an experienced Revenue Cycle Manager to join our team. The RCM will report directly to the Executive Director and will be responsible for minimizing bad debt, improving cash flow, and effectively managing accounts receivables for the practice.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee a team of 10-12 staff members in the Billing Department & Business Office.
- Effectively manage the revenue cycle process.
- Effectively organize and assign work responsibly to others within the department to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrate effective decision-making skills by making suggestions and showing initiative in order to resolve problems or execute specific tasks.
- Ensure the department is properly staffed by following PTO approval guidelines according to staff volume.
- Properly cross train and educate staff in the department to ensure proper coverage in the event of a staffing emergency or shortage.
- Provide proper advanced notice to department staff of upcoming changes, projects, important timelines, and specific goals.
- Ensure proper payments are received from patients, insurance companies, and government health programs.
- Ensure contracts and fee schedules are updated on a quarterly basis.
- Conduct monthly review of AR, Credits, Adjustments, and Retractions.
- Quickly identify and appropriately address problematic denials or reimbursement issues.
- Structure payment agreements for patients with out of pocket expenses.
- Assist in employee relations processes such as hiring, onboarding, and performance management.
- Attend conferences, in-services, teleconferences, and webinars in order to expand industry knowledge and keep up-to-date on the latest best practices.
REQUIREMENTS
- Prior experience in Oncology medical billing
- Prior experience in billing management
- Knowledge of accounts receivable, appeals, and prior authorization
- Proficiency in using NextGen and/or Epic
- Proficiency in using Intellidose and QCPR
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- ICD-10 and CPT coding certification (preferred)
