This is a TEMPORARY full-time position (4–5 month coverage).
Position Summary
School Based Therapeutic Support Therapist provides clinical services to children, adolescents, and families in schools within Hunterdon County. Services provided consist of clinical intervention through comprehensive therapeutic mental health wrap around programming as well as linkages to existing services through individual and group supportive counseling, education, presentations, and collaboration with school personnel and community providers.
Primary Position Responsibilities
Minimum Education:
Required:
Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling or Psychology or other mental health discipline
Preferred:
None
Required:
Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation):
1 year of experience with children and adolescents in a school or mental health setting
Preferred:
2 years’ experience with children and adolescents in a school or mental health setting
Required:
License, Registry or Certification:
LAC, LSW, LPC, LCSW
Valid driver’s license must pass criminal background check and fingerprinting
Required:
Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:
Crisis intervention skills, clinical training and understanding of adolescent population. Knowledge of schools and mental health facilities. Positive interpersonal skills, good communication and public speaking skills.
Clinician demonstrates knowledge of evidenced based practices in the provision of care included but not limited to: Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), and Universal Screening for SUD.

- Provides psychosocial assessment, case management, clinical interventions, and therapeutic programming (including individual, group, and family therapy)
- Completes all School Based documentation.
- Interacts and collaborates with school personnel, HMC/HBH departments, community providers, and families.
