What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Planning Manager position at Hunter Strategy?
Hunter Strategy is looking for an Operations Planning Manager to support operational planning for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) J5. You'll work as part of a two-person team, contributing directly to portfolio-level planning efforts across multiple concurrent Joint Planning Groups.
The role involves executing the Joint Planning Process (JPP) and APEX framework, supporting crisis action planning, and engaging senior stakeholders through executive briefings and Operations Approval Board presentations. Day-to-day collaboration spans DISA directorates, USCYBERCOM, JFHQ-DODIN, Combatant Commands, and DoD agencies.
What we're looking for: 5 years in a federal PMO environment with portfolio or program leadership experience, a TS/SCI clearance, and a solid foundation in DoD joint planning methodologies. A PMP, military operational planning background, or JPME certification are all pluses.
Familiarity with DISA cyberspace operations is helpful but not required. What matters most is your ability to navigate complex, high-tempo planning environments and keep concurrent priorities moving with minimal oversight.
This position is onsite at DISA HQ located in Ft. Meade, MD.
