What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Laser Cutting Technician position at Hunter Search Global?
What your day looks like
You start by staging steel sheets and plate, moving material safely with a fork truck. You’ll load the machine bed, call up or program complex laser cutting operations, and verify your setup against blueprints and BOMs. Throughout the shift, you monitor cut quality, inspect parts, and keep the work area safe and efficient while staying on pace with the production schedule.
What you’ll do
- Set up and run laser systems for precise cutting of steel components
- Create, adjust, and optimize laser programs and nests to meet detailed specifications
- Read and apply BOMs and interpret engineering blueprints to confirm dimensions and features
- Operate fork trucks to load/unload and position material
- Inspect in-process and finished parts to ensure quality and accuracy
- Work safely, maintain a clean workspace, and support efficient flow
- Meet production schedules; work overtime as needed
