Summary:
Enhancing existing designs and developing new ones, preparing 3D models for mechanical parts, and providing technical support to clients.
Responsibilities:
- Create 3D models, precise accurate fully annotated engineering drawings for manufacturing, with complete BOM’s and when required, proposal drawings for customer approval.
- Developing prototypes and testing new designs.
- Travel to customer manufacturing plants and factories to gather information and liaise with manufacturing and design teams.
- Design of cutting tools used in the pipe industry, this includes special inserts, chip breakers, cartridges, tool holders and boring bars.
- Design of tools used in the bending industry, this includes bending dies, clamp dies, pressure dies, wiper dies and mandrels.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or relevant discipline.
- A portfolio of previous work may be advantageous.
- Candidates should be able to support internal and external manufacturing through the creation of supporting files such as: .xls, .pdf, .x_t, or .stp. Self-motivated with a high level of ownership.
- Understanding cutting tools for lathes, high speed tools and metal removal preferred.
- Inventor or Solidworks preferred
- Candidate must demonstrate superb attention to detail and be able to manage time efficiently.
- Candidate should be deadline-driven, meticulous, and consistently produce high-quality work.
- The ability to work independently and to collaborate with others.
- Practical experience using AutoCAD Inventor software.
- A good eye for detail
- The ability to complete projects on time and to specifications.
