Job Summary:
Hunter is seeking a skilled Assembly Mechanic with strong experience in machine building to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience assembling complex machinery, including working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, reading mechanical drawings, and fitting weldments. This position plays a key role in building high-quality foundry equipment
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble mechanical machinery and systems from blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings.
- Install and connect hydraulic and pneumatic components such as valves, cylinders, hoses, and fittings.
- Fit, align, and secure weldment components as part of machine structure.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and fluid power issues during assembly.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, cranes, hoists, and measuring devices.
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to refine designs and improve assembly processes.
- Maintain clean and organized workstations and follow safety protocols.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical training or certification a plus)
- 3 years of experience in machine building or industrial equipment assembly
- Solid understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and fluid schematics
- Experience working with fabricated weldments and structural assemblies
- Proficiency with hand and power tools, torque wrenches, and gauges
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Welding or fabrication skills are a plus but not required
Preferred Attributes:
- Forklift or crane operation certification
- Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical intuition
- Experience in a job shop or custom equipment environment
