Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting by performing construction surface preparation and using hand tools to ensure optimal adhesion.
- Operate spray guns, including conventional spray guns and airless paint sprayers, for applying coatings such as powder coating or industrial paint.
- Interpret production documents and blueprints to determine coating specifications and application procedures.
- Handle materials efficiently, utilizing warehouse experience and materials handling skills to manage supplies safely and accurately.
- Use precision measuring instruments and visual color comparison techniques to ensure coating quality and consistency.
- Follow safety protocols rigorously by wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators and respiratory protection, during all painting operations.
- Maintain cleanliness of work area, tools, and equipment, including power tools and machining devices, to uphold quality standards in production finishing.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with industrial painting processes such as powder coating, auto painting, or construction painting surface preparation.
- Knowledge of coating materials, application techniques (including conventional spraying and airless paint spraying), and finishing methods.
- Ability to interpret manufacturing instructions and technical documents accurately.
- Mechanical knowledge related to assembly, machining, and the use of hand tools and power tools.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations, materials handling, and the use of precision measuring instruments.
- Strong adherence to safety protocols including PPE use, respirator fitting, and respiratory protection practices.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to coating thicknesses and surface preparation.
