As an R&D Engineer III - Mechanical, you will be responsible for taking machine design projects from conception through production release.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop mechanical components and subsystems through the process of investigation, specification development, design, analysis, and testing.
- Achieve reliable function at low cost through the selection of part configurations, materials, and manufacturing processes
- Conceptualize and design innovative solutions to problems in the auto service industry
- Ensure structural integrity and compliance with safety standards
- Analyze solutions and designs to ensure requirements are met
- Document technical calculations and testing for agency approval
- Additional duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
- Professional Engineer license is a plus
- 7 years minimum structural machine design experience.
- Must be a proactive, creative self-starter, proficient with CAD (Creo preferred), and have experience with mechanism design, structural design and analysis, machined metal parts, material and heat treat.
- General knowledge of automobiles and their suspension systems is helpful.
