What are the responsibilities and job description for the Equipment Transport Driver position at Hunter Contracting Co.?
Hunter Contracting Co., a diversified company specializing in civil infrastructure and industrial construction, is seeking an Equipment Transport Driver responsible for moving heavy equipment and materials to and from jobsites and destinations throughout Arizona.
Responsible for:
- Loading and unloading truck to include preparing materials for safe transport and loading of construction equipment.
- Follow proper securement procedures to insure that loads are secured according to DOT regulations and safe for transport.
- Completing DOT Daily inspections and insuring truck is in top operating condition at all times.
- Operating transport truck in city traffic and on jobsites using safe driving practices with a focus on DOT rules and Regulations
- Maintaining truck logs according to state and federal regulations.
- Perform all work in a timely manner
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of commercial driving regulations and area roads.
- Ability to read and interpret road maps.
- Ability to meet set standards for hauling and scheduling.
- Ability to judge distances and weights accurately and make decisions based on verifiable standards.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment.
- Knowledge of various types of trailers used in the industry.
Education & Work Experience Requirements:
- Class “A” Driver’s License with No Air Brake restriction
- Two (2) years of experience in equipment transport
