Lab Assistant

Job Title: Laboratory Assistant

Job Type: Schedule will be Tuesday- Saturday 8:00am- 5:00pm or 7:30am- 4:30pm 

Responsibilities:
The Laboratory Assistant will be responsible for performing all paperwork, some technical and non-technical procedures required to process and submit specimens for analysis.  Science graduates welcome, room for advancement. 

Essential Job Functions:

• Performs data entry and specimen processing associated with the laboratory test requests.
• Laboratory specimen preparation.
• Follows all company policies and procedures to ensure product integrity and quality control.
• Clerical duties such as filing, scanning, or faxing, answering the phone
• Promotes a positive and safe work environment through understanding of safety (OSHA) regulations, practices, and procedures, including but not limited to biological and chemical hazards.
• Help with analyzer maintenance, specimen prep, running basic analyzer functions,
  

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• High school diploma, or equivalent, biological science degree preferred. 
• Experience in healthcare or clinical laboratory.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Prior experience with data entry a plus.
• Excellent listening and communication skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be customer service oriented.
• Punctuality is a must.
• Basic computer skills required.
  

Special Requirements:

• Candidate must retain confidentiality and all reasonable precautions to keep clients’ data and other information confidential.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Must be able to legally work in the United States.

Physical Requirements:

• Able to lift/carry up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to bend at the waist, squat.
• Ability to work with hands, see, and hear.

Conditions of Employment:

• Contingent upon a favorable background check.
• Contingent on passing a pre-employment drug screening.
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license.

Salary : $16 - $22
