This is an entry-level, on-site, first-shift role working as part of a cohesive QC lab team. You will be trained on multiple microbiology techniques and rotational duties supporting quality control testing and release of raw materials, finished products, and environmental samples.
Responsibilities
- Prepare culture media and reagents; perform autoclaving and media QC per SOPs
- Perform basic environmental and microbiological testing and accurately record and report results
- Clean and sterilize glassware and lab equipment
- Calibrate/verify basic lab instruments (balances, pipettes, pH meters, incubators)
- Follow SOPs/test methods and adhere to lab safety and quality procedures
- Participate in rotational duties and team meetings; provide occasional weekend coverage after training
- Must currently be based within a 50-mile radius of Grand Rapids/Ada, Michigan
- 6 months–2 years of laboratory experience (academic or industry) in microbiology or closely related lab work
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employer sponsorship
- Able to work on-site first shift, be available for occasional weekend work after training, sit/stand for extended periods, and lift up to 50 lbs
- Demonstrated ability to follow SOPs/test methods, maintain accurate laboratory documentation, prepare culture media and reagents, perform sterilization (autoclave), basic microbiological/environmental testing, and calibrate basic lab instruments
- GMP microbiology laboratory experience
- Quality control experience in consumer goods, nutraceuticals, or pharmaceuticals
- Experience with aseptic technique, plate counts, microscopy, and environmental monitoring programs
