This is a local, on-site role based in Grand Rapids, MI (local candidates only).

About the role We are seeking an experienced Art Director on a 12-month W2 contract to bring brand and campaign strategies to life across web, social, video, and print. You will work with a leading global consumer goods company (client confidential) and collaborate closely with Brand Managers, Social Media Leads, Creative Project Managers, internal Creative Solutions teams and external agencies to concept, direct, and execute high-quality, on-brand work. This is a local, on-site role based in Grand Rapids, MI (local candidates only).
Responsibilities
- Translate brand and campaign strategy into cohesive creative concepts across web, social, video and print
- Provide clear, actionable art direction to agencies, designers, photographers/videographers and production partners (including on-set direction)
- Lead creative from concept through execution for holistic brand and product launch campaigns
- Design and produce creative assets as needed while upholding brand standards and visual design best practices
- Develop social-first and motion storytelling content aligned with platform trends and channel best practices
- Ensure visual excellence across deliverables (color, composition, typography) and give constructive creative feedback
- Must be based within a 50-mile radius of Grand Rapids, Michigan
- Minimum 4 years' experience in art direction, graphic design or a closely related role
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employer sponsorship and available for W2 employment (no C2C)
- Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design or a closely related field
- Strong professional portfolio with individual contributions clearly identified (portfolio link required)
- Expert proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Microsoft PowerPoint; hands-on experience with Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere Pro
- Experience working on global brands and multi-market campaigns
- Experience supporting product launches across web, social, video and print
- Strong motion design / storytelling skills and experience creating social-first content
- Experience providing art direction to agencies and on-set production teams
- Comfortable solving complex visual design problems across multi-channel systems
- Contract: 12 months with potential multi-year extensions
- Hours: 40 hours per week
