Work Schedule
This is a full-time position with a typical working schedule of Mon – Friday 5:00am – 5:30pm
The Commissioning Agent is responsible for planning, coordinating, executing, and documenting the commissioning process for mission-critical electrical systems within data center projects. This role ensures that all electrical infrastructure systems are installed, tested, operated, and maintained according to project requirements, design intent, manufacturer requirements, and industry standards.
Major Duties
- Conduct site inspections to verify installation quality and compliance with approved documents.
- Monitor installation of all electrical systems such as medium voltage, switchgear and switchboards, grounding and bonding systems, and busway systems, UPS systems, PDIs/RPPs, Generators, ATS/STS systems, EPMS/BMS interfaces, and battery systems.
- Track and document deficiencies, corrective actions, and issue resolution.
- Coordinate factory witness testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT).
- Review MOPs and SOPs for conformity to project documents.
- Identify and work with Safety team on any site issues.
- Develop and execute pre-functional checklists, functional performance tests,
- Complete integrated systems and failure mode and effects testing.
- Maintain all logs, reports, training completion, and turnover documentation.
- Prepare daily/weekly commissioning status reports and review O&M manuals and as built documentation.
- Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 71E, IEEE standards, local AHJ requirements, and owner commissioning standards.
- Participate in safety planning and risk assessments for energized testing activities.
- Work with the safety teams to enforce all site safety requirements and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Ability to work in active construction and energized environments.
- Ability to work hours required during critical testing activities.

- Demonstrates dependability with regular attendance and compliance to scheduled work hours.
- Other duties or locations as assigned by Manager.
- 5 years of experience in electrical commissioning, startup, or field engineering.
- Experience with mission-critical or data center environments preferred.
- Strong understanding of electrical power distribution systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-lines, and control schematics.
- Familiarity with commissioning processes and industry best practices.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and commissioning documentation software.
- Electrical experience preferred.
- Must have a NFPA70E cert.
- OSHA 10 certification issued within the past 5 years.
