We are looking for a skilled Technology Systems Designer who will be responsible for creating comprehensive design documents for a wide range of technology systems. The ideal candidate will have expertise in CAD and Revit drawings and possess a strong understanding of various technology systems including access control, audio visual, fire alarm, video surveillance, and more. The Technology Systems Designer will play a critical role in ensuring that our projects meet the highest standards of quality and functionality.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop detailed design documents, including CAD drawings, Revit drawings, and submittals, for various technology systems.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives.
- Conduct site surveys and assessments to gather relevant information for system design.
- Utilize industry best practices and standards to ensure the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of technology systems.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to select appropriate equipment and materials for each project.
- Review and analyze technical specifications, drawings, and other project documents to identify potential issues or conflicts.
- Provide technical support and guidance to installation teams during the implementation phase of projects.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies, trends, and innovations in the field of technology systems design.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) year degree in electrical construction, electrical design for construction or similar preferred.
- Experience in electrical construction and design would be preferred.
- NICET I or II certification in fire alarm systems preferred.
- CAD Design knowledge.
- 3D/BIM experience using Revit.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and self-motivate.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- This job operates in a professional office environment.
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, photocopiers and fax machines.
- This position requires the ability to lift files and open file cabinets.
- Employees are frequently required to sit, stand, and occasionally required to bend, kneel, reach, stoop, or crouch.
